Flathead Hot Rod Roadster - 1932 Ford Deuce Hot Rod Roadster

Found this awesome Deuce parked out front of the 2018 Petaluma old Ford swapmeet and loved all the details. Whether it was a survivor time capsule or a period correct pile of parts I don't know.

Some guys 'get it' when they assemble a car, utilizing real parts in a logical fashion makes a car feel authentic, like a driving right out of the time period of their choice. This car has a genuine feel to it, whether a new build or not it looks like something that may have rolled around California in 1948, although it probably would have had provisions for mounting fenders of some sort, as was the law at the time.

Just barfing a bunch of mail order new junk or Speedway crap onto their car makes it lose sincerity that can be felt when looking or driving a car, likewise a bunch of mixed time period parts makes a car look confused and without direction. Something as small as a Vega steering box kills that vibe, unless you're building a 70's street rod. Some guys make concessions for whatever reason but it's quite obvious the owner of this car didn't and the car is much better for it.
