Yankin' and Slammin' a Sixer
Yeah, I'm tired and creativity is at a low right now....
2.30.04

So yeah, I had a slant six three on the tree '68 Valiant, and that column shift crap really was pissing me off. So I got a parts car, which luckily came from Kansas with non-California smog legal Super Six (a two-barrel carb instead a single barrel unit, and better exhaust) and an overdrive (0.73 final drive) four speed on the floor. So after prepping the new 225, it went in this weekend. Removed all the funky smog crap, and all the other wierd crap in the engine bay. A new Police/Taxi-cab clutch went onto the freshly turned flywheel, along with new plugs and wires. Maybe I'll change the oil, too. Hopefully it'll be all wrapped up by the end of this weekend.

Big thanks to my friends Greg, Jimmy, and Kyle for helping me out with my lost cause.

Nothing was wrong with the greasy 225 with the three on the tree, ran fine and got about 25 MPG, depending on how I drove it.

The Super Six and the four speed

In it goes!!

Its true....

It'll get cleaned up and an original style air cleaner and valve cover when I get around to it. For now, the Aspen stuff works.

What I really wanted: The four on the floor, and an overdrive to boot! Had to hack the crap out of it to get it in, but the floor hump will cover that. Found some rust in the passenger side floor. I'll fix that sooner than later.
