The way I got the Valiant

I found it on Craigslist.com, reading something like this:

Plymouth Valiant 1968 Must Go
1968 Plymouth Valiant, Must go! $500 or best offer. 4 door, slant six, three on the tree.

Well, I needed a daily driver, and the scores of plastic Hondas and Import crap did not appeal to me at all. A good cheap truck still goes for a little more than what change I had jingling around in my pocket, so I picked up this little guy. The three-on-tree will be swapped out for a four-on-floor (have the transmission already, just need a few little other parts, and in it will go.

A little beat, but who cares?

At least its not a Honda.

Yup, vintage crap. Don't ask me what they towed with a slant six.

The venerable slant six, with headers, dual exhaust, a really old "capacitive discharge ignition", a school bell alarm, and a bunch of other wierd slant-six hop-up stuff. The previous owner told this car knocked out 19 to 21 MPG, and I believe him! It used about an eighth of tank driving it back from Half Moon Bay!

Black steel wheels with poverty caps.
