Pulled the 1931 Ford out of the backyard!
Finally pulled this toy out of the backyard again! I wasn’t having any luck finding a runner big block Chrysler, but I had a decent drivetrain in a ’62 Chevy pickup I just wasn’t going to get to for a while, so I pulled it out for the Model A. These year trucks have a hydraulic clutch, so getting that to work should be an absolute breeze. That’s an S-10 T-5 tranny...
High-Performance Parts Hauler: 1964 Chevrolet El Camino
Chevy 283 4 barrel, Turbo 350, 10 bolt w/??? gears I really like this Chevy, nice power in a smaller GM A-body. My old “El Camino” felt like a bloated elephant on roller skates compared to this lil’ one. Formerly owned by Robbie Rinders and before that Beau Burnett. Not sure who filled this thing full of bondo, but it’s a putty packed road rocket! Some damage,...
Full Fendered Yard Art
My Model A Coupe There hasn’t been any real progress yet, I’ve been working on getting the Challenger going. I did start bolting on all the fenders, brackets and such I’ve collected, and snapped a picture. I still haven’t trimmed down the roof insert yet, either. I kinda like it. With the fenders and the stainless headlights, the Model A shell looks better. I...
Roofing the Model A
Spent a day putting a 1951 Packard roof onto my Model A. I haven’t finished it up yet, needs a little more trimming, but looks pretty good! I’m still having issues with the hydraulics (brake and clutch, not lowrider hoppin’ stuff!) Read More →
Hot Rod Drivetrain Woes
Leakdown test on the old 383 revealed than half the cylinders were at 80% leakdown, and the other half at 50%. This is one shot 383! Take a close look, every exhaust valve whacked every piston, severely!! Always replace your timing chain. At one point I pulled the timing chain cover of and the chain had skipped several teeth! I’m not sure how it even ran, or that it didn’t...
Stuffing a rattlecan rebuild 440 HP into the 1931 Ford Coupe
Stuffing a rattlecan rebuild 440 HP into it, and some other necessary clean up!! This is one shot 383! Leakdown test on the old 383 revealed than half the cylinders were at 80% leakdown, and the other half at 50%. Surprisingly, when performing the leakdown the air all came out of the crankcase which means the rings are toast, but take a close look, every exhaust valve whacked every piston,...
