1956 Chevy 210 – Updates and First Test Drive

1956 Chevy 210 – Updates and First Test Drive

Been a while since I posted any updates on this one… Over a year to be precise. Last update on this hoopty rig was May 2013. Been a busy year for me. Wrapping up a divorce, raising a lil dude, build crap and other crazy shit takes a bite out of your time… I tossed in a rear window I scored in a trade for a spare gas tank! I also became one of the few individuals whom have...

Beater ’56 – May Update – 1956 Chevy 210 two door sedan

Beater ’56 – May Update – 1956 Chevy 210 two door sedan

So it’s been a while so I figured I’d post a couple pictures and update y’all about my beater ’56 Chevy project! When I scored the tunnel ram for $60 the “dump in a running engine and tranny” plan snowballed into “gee, let’s port the heads, install a lumpy cam, headers, and other fun bits”. 1956 Chevy 210 – December 2012 Update

So I scored this sweet ’56 Chevy project, it needed everything, but I’m so much more motivated to work on it than the Ford F-100 I traded for it. Within days I had them all screwed together and Dan helped me drop them into the car to check the fit. Seeing as...

Steering Box surprise! – 1956 Chevy 210

The steering box I got with 1956 Chevy had been cut off a few inches out of the box and a tilt steering column was in the car. Not wanting to use a tilt column I found a replacement box and column out of a 1957 Chevy and cleaned it up. While cleaning it up I notieed the adjuster bolt was missing so I grabbed the one off the box in the car. I bolted everything back together but for some reason...

Traded one 1956 for a 1956 of a different flavor…

Traded one 1956 for a 1956 of a different flavor…

I was cruising Craigslist searching for a Tri-Five Chevy station wagon when this little car popped up. I fired him off an email seeing if he’d be interested in a trade for the 1956 Ford f-100 I scored for free a few months back. After checking each others cars out a deal was struck. I’m pretty stoked! Plans for now are just to make it a beater driver and start driving ASAP....
