So I drove my Hot Rod all damn weekend!!

So I drove my Hot Rod all damn weekend!!

Just like the title says, I drove my Hot Rod all damn weekend. As luck would have it my little boy was going with his mother up her folks place and I wouldn’t have a curfew, honey-dos or any other real responsibilities, so I lived it up like a true hot rod trash! Friday after getting off work I pulled the Hot Rod out, checked the fluids, and she was ready to go. The T-5 is on the verge...

Freakin’ out the Squares! Bombin’ the A-Bone down to Santa Maria 2011

Freakin’ out the Squares! Bombin’ the A-Bone down to Santa Maria 2011

It was one of those things you decide about a month out, “Hey, lets get the Model A put back together and take it to that Santa Maria Car Show!” I’d never been to this show, it was where the West Coast Kustoms show moved after the city of Asshole Robles kicked them out, and I figured it’d be a great destination for the model A. I’ve also always wanted to follow...

The End is Near; Finally Finishing up the Roadster Conversion on the Model A

The End is Near; Finally Finishing up the Roadster Conversion on the Model A

A little more than two years ago I chopped the roof off a decent coupe in the lust of driving a roadster. When I think back about it now I don’t think I would have done it, but it has been a learning experience. I finally located the last pieces to finish up the “Roadsterization” on the Model A and it will be imperceivable that it was once a coupe, unless I told you via...

Very Loud, Somewhat Fast and Always Dirty – 1931 Ford Model A Roadster

Very Loud, Somewhat Fast and Always Dirty – 1931 Ford Model A Roadster

Really only a few updates, but I had to get out and take a few pictures of it. Now sporting a windshield and thanks to my impatience installing the glass, cracks in said windshield. Couple weeks ago I was bombing down the freeway (and I mean bombing, I was passing everyone on the road!) about midnight when the CHP picked up the lights of my little hot rod hauling at a ridiculous rate. ...

Going for a Burrito in the Model A!

Going for a Burrito in the Model A!

So Matt was saying right as we were about to go for a burrito, “I wish I had a camera, I’d love to video a ride along in the Model A” and that’s when I realized I had my camera on me. So follow along as Matt and I go get a burrito with Kevin following behind on his Harley!  Read More →

Simple Sunday Cruise

Simple Sunday Cruise

So, I’ve been itching to drive the Model A lately. A new high volume/pressure fuel pump now adequately feeds the blown 283, and it’s a little rocket on my late night test drives, but I wanted to get out and really stretch its legs. Saturday I cruised it out to Livermore, and aside from being stuck in a short downpour, it buzzed along without a problem. I didn’t get any...

Muddy Butthole!!

Muddy Butthole!!

On part of a simple Sunday cruise I stopped by my favorite muddy pull off and Matt snapped a few good shots of me flinging the Model A through some mud puddles, always something I enjoy. Maybe a local dirt track would let me play for a while sometime? At any rate, thanks Matt for the great pictures!!  Read More →

Bondo Bandito!

Bondo Bandito!

Earlier Justin and Jason stopped by and pounded on the sheetmetal for a while, and after getting it somewhat close it was getting a little late, Justin had to work, so they took off. I didn’t get any pictures while they were hammering, kicking, heated, gas welded, and twisted the body back into a more reasonable shape. I don’t think I had drank enough beer to think about it...

No-Bolt SBC Vibration Dampener Falls Off

No-Bolt SBC Vibration Dampener Falls Off

Yep, pretty much what title says. Seems like some people never have a problem, even with high RPM 327s, and others have had it happen multiple times. I figure the extra load of the supercharger may have had something to do with it. Luckily, I was only a block or so from home and it wasn’t spinning at a higher RPM! Yep, there it is, laying on the steering linkage. Drilling and tapping...
