Relics CC Black Diamond Mine Trip

Relics CC Black Diamond Mine Trip

10:00 sharp the Relic Car Club meet up at the 7-11 on Vasco Road and fill our heaps up with the necessary fluids for surviving an epic journey such as this. Just hanging around, ready to head out! Jeremy’s 1951 Chevy Truck. Matt’s 1939 Ford Truck. I asked Matt to strike a pose for a picture, but I think he must have thought I was hitting him up for change or something! We’re...

Norm’s 1964 Chevy Chevelle Malibu

Norm’s 1964 Chevy Chevelle Malibu

I was able to snap a couple of decent shots of Norm’s Chevelle at the tail end of the Relics CC Black Diamond Mine trip, so I thought I’d post ‘em up for him. The car is in amazingly good physical condition with the mechanicals and interior restored to near original. It still sports the original six cylinder and three speed overdrive transmission, shifted on the tree. ...

Stockton CA Car Show and Swap Meet

Stockton CA Car Show and Swap Meet

Matt, Gabe, and I headed out to the Stockton swap meet Sunday to see if we couldn’t find more junk we needed. I have a fairly small list these days (surprisingly!) although I try to never miss a swap meet. The rain kept a lot of swappers away, but we were still able to find a couple good deals. Matt and his 1969 Buick Skylark Sweet little Nova gasser for sale, already solid axled...

Andee’s 1953 Packard goes… Everywhere!!

Andee’s 1953 Packard goes… Everywhere!!

Andee’s got some big goals for the Packard, which include possibly driving it to Viva Las Vegas, a concert and car show in Las Vegas, of course! Andee has been driving it quite a bit lately, and it rides like a Cadillac. She had to have the starter rebuilt recently, so I think most of the major components have been rebuilt. A hub cap has been cutting one of the valve stems, but...

Simple Sunday Cruise

Simple Sunday Cruise

So, I’ve been itching to drive the Model A lately. A new high volume/pressure fuel pump now adequately feeds the blown 283, and it’s a little rocket on my late night test drives, but I wanted to get out and really stretch its legs. Saturday I cruised it out to Livermore, and aside from being stuck in a short downpour, it buzzed along without a problem. I didn’t get any...

Little more progress on Kyle’s 1955 Chevy

Little more progress on Kyle’s 1955 Chevy

Kyle collects more parts and gets more done on his ’55 Chevy project. It is a massive undertaking, but things are beginning to move a little faster. The tilt front end is mounted now and it is beginning to look like a car! Kyle has been doing bodywork to the quarter panel on this side of the Chevy. He’s already fixed a lot of damage on this car. Turlock Swapmeet parts…...

Matt’s 1969 Buick Skylark

Matt’s 1969 Buick Skylark

Matt inherited this car in a roundabout kind of way from his uncle. His uncle added a bunch of handling goodies, it has drop springs and aftermarket swaybars, possible other parts. Matt found the wheels on Craigslist for $300 (screamin’ deal there!), pulled of the old frazzled vinyl top and started doing some bodywork.  Read More →

Kyle’s 1955 Chevy

Kyle’s 1955 Chevy

Kyle bought his first house and moved on out to Tracy a month ago, and this weekend he brought his 1955 Chevy out and I was able to get a few decent pictures of this project. This thing was a really rough, hacked up old drag car, and Kyle has made some progress on the car. The fiberglass tilt front end. Kyle had to build a new pair of front frame horns, as one was missing and he needed...

Faster Farm’s Plymouth Belvedere gets a Wing

Faster Farm’s Plymouth Belvedere gets a Wing

My favorite 24 hours of LeMons team is at it again. A giant diamond-plate Daytona wing has replaced the “active braking” spoiler ruled unsafe for competition eariler this year. See more about the car and action from Thunderhill raceway here.  Read More →

Jimmy’s Old Car Picnic 2009

Jimmy’s Old Car Picnic 2009

Once a year in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park Jimmy has a picnic, and invites all the car nuts from around the Bay Area to it. I had so much fun last year I decided it was one of those “can’t miss” shows. This year the admission was up $10 from last year’s $20, but that didn’t seem to affect the attendance of so many great cars. I’ll add more verbage...
