Kingdon Drag Race 2010

Kingdon Drag Race 2010

A last minute suggestion led to Matt and I taking our hoopties out to annual Kingdon Drags last Sunday. The weather was great, my Dad came along with me, and my Sis and her hubby Jimbo met us here. I like Kingdon a lot, but they waste so much time doing stupid stuff it’s mind boggling. If you got more timed runs it would be easier to overlook the fact that the dragstrip is only slightly...

American Graffiti Nights 2010 in Petaluma

American Graffiti Nights 2010 in Petaluma

I always enjoy Petaluma’s Salute to American Graffiti Car Show, it’s put on in downtown Petaluma where there are plenty of good restaurants and pubs to crawl as well as block after block of hot rods and muscle cars. Plus my good buddy Steve lives up there and I don’t get to see him nearly as much as I used to, and it’s always a good time hanging out with him. Friday...

Relics CC Black Diamond Mine Trip

Relics CC Black Diamond Mine Trip

10:00 sharp the Relic Car Club meet up at the 7-11 on Vasco Road and fill our heaps up with the necessary fluids for surviving an epic journey such as this. Just hanging around, ready to head out! Jeremy’s 1951 Chevy Truck. Matt’s 1939 Ford Truck. I asked Matt to strike a pose for a picture, but I think he must have thought I was hitting him up for change or something! We’re...

Stockton CA Car Show and Swap Meet

Stockton CA Car Show and Swap Meet

Matt, Gabe, and I headed out to the Stockton swap meet Sunday to see if we couldn’t find more junk we needed. I have a fairly small list these days (surprisingly!) although I try to never miss a swap meet. The rain kept a lot of swappers away, but we were still able to find a couple good deals. Matt and his 1969 Buick Skylark Sweet little Nova gasser for sale, already solid axled...

Turlock Swapmeet January 2010

Turlock Swapmeet January 2010

The January Turlock is always one of the best swapmeets I hit yearly, and this year was no exception! Great place to scrounge up hot rod parts and this year was important becausing I was relaying the Satellite to it’s new owner! We’ll start off on a hazey Saturday morning, about 8:00 or so. We’d all been up really late drinking heavily and barbecuing, and I personally...

Jimmy’s Old Car Picnic 2009

Jimmy’s Old Car Picnic 2009

Once a year in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park Jimmy has a picnic, and invites all the car nuts from around the Bay Area to it. I had so much fun last year I decided it was one of those “can’t miss” shows. This year the admission was up $10 from last year’s $20, but that didn’t seem to affect the attendance of so many great cars. I’ll add more verbage...

Altamount Cruisers Car Show 2009

Altamount Cruisers Car Show 2009

The Altamount Cruisers Show was huge this year, spanning three streets three blocks long, and on First street it was five blocks long. The weather was hot, and I was pretty pickled from drinking heavily at the Relic’s Bar Show the night before, but I stumbled on, running into lots of friends as I went. 1964 Chevelle convertible It’s the reverse of my truck! Dave’s...

Turlock Swapmeet 8.30.09

Turlock Swapmeet 8.30.09

For years, I’ve always gone to swap meets with my friends. The last few swap meets I’d gone to I’ve gone with my Dad, and seen my friends there. This time my Dad couldn’t go, and it coincided with the Hayward-on-the-Hill swap meet, so my buddies were headed that way. I was going to hit a swap meet all by my lonesome!! Official Turlock Swap Meet COE GMC Truck Three...
